« Bacurau » BEIRUT(E) screening on Dec. 15, at 7 PM at Sunflower – Douwar el Shams
The film « Bacurau », directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles and winner of the Jury Prize at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, will be screened on Tuesday 15 December at 7 PM in the framework of SAWA | سوا – Screenings in Beirut at Sunflower – Douwar el Shams. This screening is in partnership with Metropolis Cinema Association and Beirut DC.
Bacurau, a small town in the Brazilian sertão, is shaken by the loss of its matriarch Carmelita. But something strange is happening: the water supply has been cut off, and the village has disappeared from satellite maps completely. Under threat from an unknown enemy, Bacurau braces itself for a brutal fight for survival.
