Why this french ship was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, injuring crew members ?

The French shipping giant CMA CGM announced that its vessel, CMA CGM San Antonio, was the target of a maritime attack while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The incident resulted in injuries to some crew members, who were evacuated to receive medical care.

The company confirmed the attack in a statement to AFP, emphasizing that the ship sustained damage. Last month, CMA CGM reported that another vessel was targeted by warning shots in the same area, without recording any injuries. The company also mentioned that 14 of its ships were blocked in the Gulf at the beginning of the conflict, and one ship, Kribi, managed to exit the Strait of Hormuz in April.

These incidents highlight the increased risks for maritime transport in this strategic region.
